It all started July 4th weekend in 2021, at the ever-glamorous Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Amid the noise of slot machines and glare of the sun off his frosted tips, Dan walked up to Haley with a bold opener: “Want to hear how I got banned from the country of Switzerland?” (Spoiler: she did.)

From that moment on, things moved pretty quickly. Within a month, Dan asked Haley to be his girlfriend and his date to his sister Kim's wedding. (Miraculously, she said yes to both.)

After a whirlwind summer straight out of Grease, the next chapter for these two was long distance: Haley in Philadelphia finishing up her last year of law school, and Dan in Arlington, VA. Between Amtrak rides, marathon phone calls, and weekend trips, their bond only grew stronger. Eventually, Dan (and their beloved rescue, Colt) made the big move north of the Mason-Dixon to be with Haley.

Two years later, Dan popped the question on a picturesque October evening just a block from their apartment. Although Haley was ugly crying too hard to get the words out at first, Dan eventually got the answer he was looking for.

While they won't be celebrating at the Golden Nugget, Haley and Dan can't wait to cement their love at the place where it all began: the Jersey Shore.
